Worst company ever

Super scammers! Don’t show up as they say they will, totally unprofessional then over charge then hold your goods ransom at the delivery point. Do not use them or even think about it!

The worst company I have ever dealt with.

I have shipped my stuff almost 20 days ago, which is promised to be moved in 10 days but they never responded and when I call back they hang up, so I highly recommend you not to use this, I personally felt the same happened with other people to, I think they are cheating on people by stealing their stuff, all those 5 stars are fake, never use this company by mistake,.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to San Jose, CA

Kept their word.

I enjoyed my experience with Konami Moving & Storage because they knew how to keep me happy as a customer by maintaining high standards and comprehensive organization throughout the entirety of this move. With them being organized and keeping my things as safe as possible, my things arrived to their destination in San Jose unscathed.

This should be the industry standard, but I know every company out there isn’t willing to sacrifice for their customers. But Konami Moving & Storage was willing to do whatever it took and that’s why I’ll be recommending them!

Criminals - Plain and Simple.

My daughter hired this “company” for her move from Texas to Washington. She came to stay with us while her husband was stationed in Korea with the Army so she wouldn’t be alone when she delivered their first baby. When it came time for her and the baby to move back to WA to prepare for her husband’s return from Korea, she called several companies and ended up deciding to go with Konami as she was assured by Donovan her belongings would be delivered Oct. 10 as long as they were able to pick up by Oct. 1. She spoke to another rep, Sean, to go through her checklist and add a few items she forgot to tell Donovan about initially and was again told her belongings would be delivered Oct. 10. I heard the conversation on speaker. The guys showed up Oct. 1 to load the truck & wouldn’t take the crib because it wasn’t taken apart. This ended up being a GOOD thing. I took a week off work and flew to WA with my daughter and her 5mo old baby to help her unpack and get settled before her husband got back. My husband took a week off work to drive our daughter’s car up with the crib and the tv that didn’t get loaded into the truck. We flew into WA 10/9 but never heard from dispatch re a delivery time. We went to the apartment 10/10 and called dispatch. Only then, Oct. 10, after already paying for flights and a rental car, were we told the company has 21 business days from the earliest date of requested delivery. Very long story made short - we’ve made multiple calls to the company. No one calls back. She was LAUGHED AT BY THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY when she told him no one would call her back & told her the problem was she was cussing at him and that no one would have told her she would get her things on the 10th. She NEVER would have hired them if they had been upfront about their 21 or 30 day delivery window. She would have hired someone else. They tell her they’ll call her with updates and never call. They quit answering her calls so my husband started calling. He doesn’t get any return calls either. So now she’s sitting in an empty apartment except for the crib and tv, an air mattress, and a folding chair. No other belongings. She only took one suitcase of clothes for her & the baby. Everything else is somewhere supposedly in Dallas. Her husband is coming back from Korea in 2 days to an empty apartment, an upset and frustrated wife, and a 5 month baby with nothing but a few outfits that’s she’s quickly growing out of because all her bigger clothes are in storage somewhere!! And do these criminals care about any of that?? Absolutely not. They’re terrible terrible people. PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT HIRE THEM! There is absolutely no way on God’s green earth the 5 star reviews in here are real. I only gave them 1 star because I had to give them something to be able to write a review. They don’t deserve any.

Official company response

We have each customer sign an agreement that we have 21 business days from the customer's first available delivery date to deliver their items. Rebecca's daughter (Taylor) put as her first delivery date to be Oct. 10, the driver has a form explaining we have 21 business days and was explained before customer signed. On Oct. 10 our dispatch department contacted the customer to verify if she is ready for delivery and started being awfully rude wanting it delivered that same day. Going from Texas to Washington is does take longer then 1 day to deliver.
In regard to the "laughed by the owner", I want to clarify that I spoke to Taylor on that day about 5-7 times, she kept cussing, hanging up then calling back, cussed me out and hanging up again, and repeated. It became comical to me because I never had a customer act this way when I am trying to come to an agreement.

Nightmare of a move.

Yes, I spoke with Lesley from Konami, based in Denver CO in early June. Was unable to commit to a date until our house was sold. I spoke with Lesley several times over the next 6 weeks. She assured me the movers were professional and would unpack and take the empty boxes. She quoted me a fee of $4900 for 950 cubic feet. Two days before the movers arrived I am contacted by a representative of J Gentle Movers, we go over the list of items, and surprise, the fee is now $6000. I am reassured by Tom, Mark, not sure, that we will only pay for the space we used. This proved to be untrue, the quote was for 156 items we packed 138 and only received 131. How does that work? Some items never came, some showed up wet with water damage and $1300 of my stuff was broken. I filed a claim, as Crystal told me with Anthem, but the Insurance Company company no longer covers them, contact CSI. I sent a detailed claim to CSI, after 10 days I called and was told they don’t cover Konami - the broker, or J Gentle Van Lines. No one at either company will take my calls or respond to my emails.

Worst Moving Experience Ever!!

Let me start out my saying my husband and I have moved 5 times (interstate or international) in the past 13 years. We expect for there to be some minor hiccups and even some damage but our experience with Konami was like none we've ever experienced. This company was a disaster from the beginning when they sent 2 guys to inventory, pack and load our 2700 sf house. The truck they brought wasn't big enough so we had to leave some stuff behind. They didn't leave until 11 pm and literally drove off with our mattresses and other stuff tied onto the back of the truck. There's NO way our stuff was stored in a climate controlled facility. Several pairs of my husbands good shoes were ruined because the glue melted off. We also had damage to some hand-painted lampshades as a result of heat. Getting our stuff delivered was a huge ordeal. They lied to us several times saying the truck was in route only to find out several days later that the truck hadn't even left Vegas. The delivery date was moved around at least 4 times that I can remember. When they did arrive to deliver, 2 guys showed up with a semi. That's it. NO RAMP. NO LIFT. They argued with my husband about being able to lift a few 1000 pound items out of the truck (tool boxes). They weren't there 15 minutes and one of the movers asked my husband "do you wan't to just fight and get it over with right now?" They had to hire a tow truck to come help unload the heavy items. We have several pieces of very expensive, high end furniture that they DESTROYED. They had to work really hard to do so much damage. We had 2 dressers that the backs were smashed in. They whacked a leg off of a chair. Major damages that honestly, I'm not even going to get into because it's too upsetting. Anyway, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! I've been trying to file a claim for damages but I can never get through to them. Today, I held for 15 minutes and was suddenly disconnected. They should be put out of business.

Konami Moving and Storage

I am someone who normally feels very uncomfortable speaking up about bad treatment or service, but I’m furious with this company. The other reviews are true. Don’t go NEAR this company. Where do I even begin with the poor service...

-A full day late to pick up after telling us they would arrive at a certain time. No one called, no one told us anything. When we called to see what was going on, the woman on the phone was brusque and unhelpful. They arrived without apology a day late.

-TONS of hidden fees upon pickup. Our final cost was nearly THREE TIMES what we were quoted. And we were obviously not notified of the hidden fees before pickup because then we had no time to dispute them.

-We were told we’d be waiting between 7 and 10 business days for delivery. Instead, we waited an entire month, sleeping on the floor and eating only packaged food because all of our dishes were with the movers.

-We were finally given a specific delivery date. After the scheduled delivery day (and several more after that) passed, we called the company to find out that their truck had broken and they wouldn’t be arriving for another week. Again, complete FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE.

-Upon delivery, movers were rude and clumsy, putting heavy boxes on top of light ones and dropping boxes with giant tears in them directly on the floor. They then left without notifying me. I had no idea they were even gone until I noticed that the truck wasn’t out front anymore.

-Upon inspection, discovered that my dining table was BROKEN AND UNUSABLE and that one of my four dining chairs was missing altogether. When I asked one of the movers where the fourth chair was, he shrugged and said there wasn’t one, then stared at me like he couldn’t understand what I wanted from him.

This was my husband’s and my first big move, and I honestly feel robbed. Worst service on the planet. Avoid this shady, unprofessional company like the plague.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to West Shokan, NY

THIS COMPANY RUINED MY LIFE

Please do not underestimate the damage this “moving company” will do. I hired what I thought was a moving company called Interstate Moving and Relocation who had good reviews for my move from California to New York. They turned out to be a brokerage company that hands the move off to another company. None of this was explained to me at all. The day of the move I got a call saying their truck broke down and they couldn’t tell me when they would arrive to pick up my belongings. I get a call the next afternoon saying the moving truck would be at my apartment in an hour. The movers arrived in a rented Penske truck and the three young guys doing the moving were extremely unprofessional from the moment they walked in. Not wearing masks, complaining about everything they had to do and not being careful with my stuff at all. Once everything was out of my place they walked me outside and showed me all of my belongings sitting on the loading dock at the back of the truck. I was then told that all of their estimates are based on “Ikea sized furniture” and that mine was bigger and would cost more than I was quoted. I started crying and told them that I feel like the entire things is a scam and asked them to remove my stuff and bring it back in my apartment. They told me I would be charged for moving it back and the main guy told me he would call his boss and get an exact price of how much more it would be. He told me it would be under $500 extra. I was so drained and on such a time crunch at this point that I let them take my entire life away on that truck despite having a gut feeling. I learned later reading reviews that this company Konami Moving and Storage runs this same scam about the “broken down truck” so that people are so stressed with their move being off schedule that they are willing to over look what bullshit everything about the move is. I flew to New York and didn’t hear a word about my stuff. I tried to contact both Interstate Moving and Relocation and the company they hired Konami Moving and Storage numerous times over months and could never get a straight answer from anyone. I was finally told that they legally had 30 business days before I could do anything or get any money back. 30 business days came and they still couldn’t tell me when I would receive my stuff but they did tell me that all of my belongings had been brought to their warehouse in Las Vegas. I hired a Las Vegas based storage company to go to Konami and pick up my stuff. When they did they were only given about half of my stuff. I flew to Las Vegas to try to go to Konami’s warehouse myself. I did and it was CLEARLY a complete and total SCAM. The office was a filthy smoke filled corner of a warehouse that was filled with peoples belongings thrown in piles. There were beer bottles laying around on top of peoples belongings and TONS of furniture and cardboard boxes outside in the rain. They would not tell me where the rest of my stuff is. They said they were “moving warehouses” and my things were just misplaced but they would get them to me (this was 5 months ago!). I went back to the storage facility where the stuff I was able to recover was being kept and I started to open my boxes. THEY HAD BEEN OPENED, STOLLEN FROM AND TAPED BACK UP WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S BELONGINGS IN THEM. I mean I have strangers personal family photos, letters, clothing and the list goes on. They took out anything in my boxes that they could resell. For example my gold case full of professional barbering equipment. Every single piece of furniture I got back is destroyed. They clearly had no intention of ever delivering this stuff which is why they toss it around and are not careful AT ALL. Metal legs of a dresser bent in half, huge gashes in metal cabinets. In the 5 months since this has happened I have written reviews on The Better Business Bureau an only Interstate Moving and Relocation responded because they obviously care about keeping their reviews good so they can keep the scam going. Konami doesn’t care about reviews because they rely on these brokerage companies to give them business. The customer doesn’t have a chance to research the name Konami because they don’t know that they’re even using them until they sign the contract on the day of the move. So a woman who works for Interstate called me to try to resolve the issue so I would take down the reviews. She said Konami was offering me $2,000 which is more than I would get through the insurance claim. The insurance company CSI that works with Konami is also part of the scam. You get 60 cents a pound for anything you can prove you did not get back which is NOTHING. They can take everything you have every owned and give you back under $2,000. I did not accept since they stole over $30,000 worth of belongings and I paid another $7,000 to fly to Las Vegas and rent a box truck to drive what I was able to recover back to New York.

Long-distance move from Riverton, UT to Loganville, GA

AVOID!

My elderly mother-in-law needed to be moved to Atlanta. Konami Moving & Storage was sub-contracted by a lead-in site. Had we known this was the company, we would have looked them up... and said no.

This move was a DISASTER from minute one. The movers showed up, and presented her with a bill to sign, which was nearly DOUBLE what we were quoted. The movers bullied her into signing it, under threat of leaving, if she did not.

We had paid extra for the movers to help pack items (which was not much, since everything was mostly packed, and in a shed). The movers complained and griped that they aren't paid to pack her 's••t'... a word they used quite often to describe the items they were moving. And then the trouble really began...

We were told the items would arrive in about 14 days (and have the papers saying that). When 14 days passed without any contact at all, we called and were told it's 21 days, not 14. When 21 days passed with no contact, we contacted again, and the extremely rude lady told us that they would let us know when it was going to arrive. This continued for nearly 5 MONTHS!

During all those weeks, we were told a variety of things, such as that the items were in storage in AZ... that they were already in Atlanta and would be delivered soon, and my favorite..... they didn't know where the items were. Mix in a few rude blow-offs as well.

Finally after nearly 5 months, and double the quoted cost, they set up a delivery. When the items arrived, there were MANY damaged or destroyed items... broken pictures with glass everywhere, broken chairs, and tables.... and many items missing. They also delivered items that did not belong to us. When we informed them of this, we were told that if they had our sticker, they are our items. Those items are still in our garage and they have refused to take them back, or find who they actually belong to.

Overall, these guys get -700,000 stars, and should be avoided at all cost

Triple charged, super late, destroyed everything.

F you're reading this, it's probably already too late. You probably used a broker who used this company. If you are lucky enough to not be forced to use this company: RUN AWAY!

This company is terrible, bottom of the barrel. They only get business by working with brokers, who book them because they don't give a shit about your stuff and can make more off you if they book a cheaper company. They probably get kickbacks.

It would be faster and cheaper to just pay someone to destroy your furniture.

The first hint I had that something wasn't right was when the movers arrived, loaded up my stuff, and said that it was actually 786 cubic feet. My stuff was in a storage unit with specific dimensions, so I knew this couldn't be the case, but there was nothing that I could do about it. I had to pay half sof the remaining, with the new estimate at $5500, but hey, at least I'd get my stuff soon.

After SIX WEEKS I finally got a call saying that my stuff had made it to New York, but they wanted an extra $800 to bring it the last 11 miles. Instead of

MORE THAN SIX WEEKS after I had my stuff picked up I got a call from the truck driver. The driver said that I would have to pay $700 extra for him to bring my stuff to Manhattan, plus a bunch of extra fees for everything you can think of, and the provided COI that wasn't even close to satisfying my building's requirements.

I ended up booking a new mover, and paying them $800 just to get my stuff from Brooklyn to Manhattan, but I figured this was a safer bet than paying the $700 to Konami and letting them have another opportunity to rack up the fees. They met me at the truck and we all stared in awe at the utter lack of care with which the truck driver dumped another person's belongings onto the street and into the snow. I actually saw a box completely break apart and the driver kick the contents on to the sidewalk, while commenting about the supposed race of the person. ("This must be a 7-11 owner", while imitating an Indian accent).

The driver kept telling me that he didn't load up the stuff, he just drove, clearly so I wasn't mad as him when I saw my stuff. I waited with dread for him to get to my stuff, and when it was time, I knew what was coming: My new couch was torn, my dresser was totaled, my vinyl were warped (were they left in the Nevada sun?) and basically everything else had the sort of damage that could only be caused by the blatant disregard of people who give absolutely zero shits about your property.

My new (good) movers loaded the supposed 768 cubic feet of stuff into the 500 cubic foot van, and it was barely half full: Konami had almost TRIPLE CHARGED!

Now this ordeal is over, and I have my stuff, but I have literally thousands of dollars in damages, and I have to claim everything they broke, but if the other reviews are true, they will either just ignore your claim or drag their heels forever.

Don't make my mistake, if you are lucky enough to be able to choose your mover.
