The worst company I have ever dealt with.

I have shipped my stuff almost 20 days ago, which is promised to be moved in 10 days but they never responded and when I call back they hang up, so I highly recommend you not to use this, I personally felt the same happened with other people to, I think they are cheating on people by stealing their stuff, all those 5 stars are fake, never use this company by mistake,.

Kept their word.

I enjoyed my experience with Konami Moving & Storage because they knew how to keep me happy as a customer by maintaining high standards and comprehensive organization throughout the entirety of this move. With them being organized and keeping my things as safe as possible, my things arrived to their destination in San Jose unscathed.

This should be the industry standard, but I know every company out there isn’t willing to sacrifice for their customers. But Konami Moving & Storage was willing to do whatever it took and that’s why I’ll be recommending them!

Criminals - Plain and Simple.

My daughter hired this “company” for her move from Texas to Washington. She came to stay with us while her husband was stationed in Korea with the Army so she wouldn’t be alone when she delivered their first baby. When it came time for her and the baby to move back to WA to prepare for her husband’s return from Korea, she called several companies and ended up deciding to go with Konami as she was assured by Donovan her belongings would be delivered Oct. 10 as long as they were able to pick up by Oct. 1. She spoke to another rep, Sean, to go through her checklist and add a few items she forgot to tell Donovan about initially and was again told her belongings would be delivered Oct. 10. I heard the conversation on speaker. The guys showed up Oct. 1 to load the truck & wouldn’t take the crib because it wasn’t taken apart. This ended up being a GOOD thing. I took a week off work and flew to WA with my daughter and her 5mo old baby to help her unpack and get settled before her husband got back. My husband took a week off work to drive our daughter’s car up with the crib and the tv that didn’t get loaded into the truck. We flew into WA 10/9 but never heard from dispatch re a delivery time. We went to the apartment 10/10 and called dispatch. Only then, Oct. 10, after already paying for flights and a rental car, were we told the company has 21 business days from the earliest date of requested delivery. Very long story made short - we’ve made multiple calls to the company. No one calls back. She was LAUGHED AT BY THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY when she told him no one would call her back & told her the problem was she was cussing at him and that no one would have told her she would get her things on the 10th. She NEVER would have hired them if they had been upfront about their 21 or 30 day delivery window. She would have hired someone else. They tell her they’ll call her with updates and never call. They quit answering her calls so my husband started calling. He doesn’t get any return calls either. So now she’s sitting in an empty apartment except for the crib and tv, an air mattress, and a folding chair. No other belongings. She only took one suitcase of clothes for her & the baby. Everything else is somewhere supposedly in Dallas. Her husband is coming back from Korea in 2 days to an empty apartment, an upset and frustrated wife, and a 5 month baby with nothing but a few outfits that’s she’s quickly growing out of because all her bigger clothes are in storage somewhere!! And do these criminals care about any of that?? Absolutely not. They’re terrible terrible people. PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT HIRE THEM! There is absolutely no way on God’s green earth the 5 star reviews in here are real. I only gave them 1 star because I had to give them something to be able to write a review. They don’t deserve any.

Official company response

We have each customer sign an agreement that we have 21 business days from the customer's first available delivery date to deliver their items. Rebecca's daughter (Taylor) put as her first delivery date to be Oct. 10, the driver has a form explaining we have 21 business days and was explained before customer signed. On Oct. 10 our dispatch department contacted the customer to verify if she is ready for delivery and started being awfully rude wanting it delivered that same day. Going from Texas to Washington is does take longer then 1 day to deliver.
In regard to the "laughed by the owner", I want to clarify that I spoke to Taylor on that day about 5-7 times, she kept cussing, hanging up then calling back, cussed me out and hanging up again, and repeated. It became comical to me because I never had a customer act this way when I am trying to come to an agreement.

Nightmare of a move.

Yes, I spoke with Lesley from Konami, based in Denver CO in early June. Was unable to commit to a date until our house was sold. I spoke with Lesley several times over the next 6 weeks. She assured me the movers were professional and would unpack and take the empty boxes. She quoted me a fee of $4900 for 950 cubic feet. Two days before the movers arrived I am contacted by a representative of J Gentle Movers, we go over the list of items, and surprise, the fee is now $6000. I am reassured by Tom, Mark, not sure, that we will only pay for the space we used. This proved to be untrue, the quote was for 156 items we packed 138 and only received 131. How does that work? Some items never came, some showed up wet with water damage and $1300 of my stuff was broken. I filed a claim, as Crystal told me with Anthem, but the Insurance Company company no longer covers them, contact CSI. I sent a detailed claim to CSI, after 10 days I called and was told they don’t cover Konami - the broker, or J Gentle Van Lines. No one at either company will take my calls or respond to my emails.

Worst Moving Experience Ever!!

Let me start out my saying my husband and I have moved 5 times (interstate or international) in the past 13 years. We expect for there to be some minor hiccups and even some damage but our experience with Konami was like none we've ever experienced. This company was a disaster from the beginning when they sent 2 guys to inventory, pack and load our 2700 sf house. The truck they brought wasn't big enough so we had to leave some stuff behind. They didn't leave until 11 pm and literally drove off with our mattresses and other stuff tied onto the back of the truck. There's NO way our stuff was stored in a climate controlled facility. Several pairs of my husbands good shoes were ruined because the glue melted off. We also had damage to some hand-painted lampshades as a result of heat. Getting our stuff delivered was a huge ordeal. They lied to us several times saying the truck was in route only to find out several days later that the truck hadn't even left Vegas. The delivery date was moved around at least 4 times that I can remember. When they did arrive to deliver, 2 guys showed up with a semi. That's it. NO RAMP. NO LIFT. They argued with my husband about being able to lift a few 1000 pound items out of the truck (tool boxes). They weren't there 15 minutes and one of the movers asked my husband "do you wan't to just fight and get it over with right now?" They had to hire a tow truck to come help unload the heavy items. We have several pieces of very expensive, high end furniture that they DESTROYED. They had to work really hard to do so much damage. We had 2 dressers that the backs were smashed in. They whacked a leg off of a chair. Major damages that honestly, I'm not even going to get into because it's too upsetting. Anyway, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! I've been trying to file a claim for damages but I can never get through to them. Today, I held for 15 minutes and was suddenly disconnected. They should be put out of business.

Konami Moving and Storage

I am someone who normally feels very uncomfortable speaking up about bad treatment or service, but I’m furious with this company. The other reviews are true. Don’t go NEAR this company. Where do I even begin with the poor service...

-A full day late to pick up after telling us they would arrive at a certain time. No one called, no one told us anything. When we called to see what was going on, the woman on the phone was brusque and unhelpful. They arrived without apology a day late.

-TONS of hidden fees upon pickup. Our final cost was nearly THREE TIMES what we were quoted. And we were obviously not notified of the hidden fees before pickup because then we had no time to dispute them.

-We were told we’d be waiting between 7 and 10 business days for delivery. Instead, we waited an entire month, sleeping on the floor and eating only packaged food because all of our dishes were with the movers.

-We were finally given a specific delivery date. After the scheduled delivery day (and several more after that) passed, we called the company to find out that their truck had broken and they wouldn’t be arriving for another week. Again, complete FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE.

-Upon delivery, movers were rude and clumsy, putting heavy boxes on top of light ones and dropping boxes with giant tears in them directly on the floor. They then left without notifying me. I had no idea they were even gone until I noticed that the truck wasn’t out front anymore.

-Upon inspection, discovered that my dining table was BROKEN AND UNUSABLE and that one of my four dining chairs was missing altogether. When I asked one of the movers where the fourth chair was, he shrugged and said there wasn’t one, then stared at me like he couldn’t understand what I wanted from him.

This was my husband’s and my first big move, and I honestly feel robbed. Worst service on the planet. Avoid this shady, unprofessional company like the plague.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to West Shokan, NY

THIS COMPANY RUINED MY LIFE

Please do not underestimate the damage this “moving company” will do. I hired what I thought was a moving company called Interstate Moving and Relocation who had good reviews for my move from California to New York. They turned out to be a brokerage company that hands the move off to another company. None of this was explained to me at all. The day of the move I got a call saying their truck broke down and they couldn’t tell me when they would arrive to pick up my belongings. I get a call the next afternoon saying the moving truck would be at my apartment in an hour. The movers arrived in a rented Penske truck and the three young guys doing the moving were extremely unprofessional from the moment they walked in. Not wearing masks, complaining about everything they had to do and not being careful with my stuff at all. Once everything was out of my place they walked me outside and showed me all of my belongings sitting on the loading dock at the back of the truck. I was then told that all of their estimates are based on “Ikea sized furniture” and that mine was bigger and would cost more than I was quoted. I started crying and told them that I feel like the entire things is a scam and asked them to remove my stuff and bring it back in my apartment. They told me I would be charged for moving it back and the main guy told me he would call his boss and get an exact price of how much more it would be. He told me it would be under $500 extra. I was so drained and on such a time crunch at this point that I let them take my entire life away on that truck despite having a gut feeling. I learned later reading reviews that this company Konami Moving and Storage runs this same scam about the “broken down truck” so that people are so stressed with their move being off schedule that they are willing to over look what bullshit everything about the move is. I flew to New York and didn’t hear a word about my stuff. I tried to contact both Interstate Moving and Relocation and the company they hired Konami Moving and Storage numerous times over months and could never get a straight answer from anyone. I was finally told that they legally had 30 business days before I could do anything or get any money back. 30 business days came and they still couldn’t tell me when I would receive my stuff but they did tell me that all of my belongings had been brought to their warehouse in Las Vegas. I hired a Las Vegas based storage company to go to Konami and pick up my stuff. When they did they were only given about half of my stuff. I flew to Las Vegas to try to go to Konami’s warehouse myself. I did and it was CLEARLY a complete and total SCAM. The office was a filthy smoke filled corner of a warehouse that was filled with peoples belongings thrown in piles. There were beer bottles laying around on top of peoples belongings and TONS of furniture and cardboard boxes outside in the rain. They would not tell me where the rest of my stuff is. They said they were “moving warehouses” and my things were just misplaced but they would get them to me (this was 5 months ago!). I went back to the storage facility where the stuff I was able to recover was being kept and I started to open my boxes. THEY HAD BEEN OPENED, STOLLEN FROM AND TAPED BACK UP WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S BELONGINGS IN THEM. I mean I have strangers personal family photos, letters, clothing and the list goes on. They took out anything in my boxes that they could resell. For example my gold case full of professional barbering equipment. Every single piece of furniture I got back is destroyed. They clearly had no intention of ever delivering this stuff which is why they toss it around and are not careful AT ALL. Metal legs of a dresser bent in half, huge gashes in metal cabinets. In the 5 months since this has happened I have written reviews on The Better Business Bureau an only Interstate Moving and Relocation responded because they obviously care about keeping their reviews good so they can keep the scam going. Konami doesn’t care about reviews because they rely on these brokerage companies to give them business. The customer doesn’t have a chance to research the name Konami because they don’t know that they’re even using them until they sign the contract on the day of the move. So a woman who works for Interstate called me to try to resolve the issue so I would take down the reviews. She said Konami was offering me $2,000 which is more than I would get through the insurance claim. The insurance company CSI that works with Konami is also part of the scam. You get 60 cents a pound for anything you can prove you did not get back which is NOTHING. They can take everything you have every owned and give you back under $2,000. I did not accept since they stole over $30,000 worth of belongings and I paid another $7,000 to fly to Las Vegas and rent a box truck to drive what I was able to recover back to New York.

AVOID!

My elderly mother-in-law needed to be moved to Atlanta. Konami Moving & Storage was sub-contracted by a lead-in site. Had we known this was the company, we would have looked them up... and said no.

This move was a DISASTER from minute one. The movers showed up, and presented her with a bill to sign, which was nearly DOUBLE what we were quoted. The movers bullied her into signing it, under threat of leaving, if she did not.

We had paid extra for the movers to help pack items (which was not much, since everything was mostly packed, and in a shed). The movers complained and griped that they aren't paid to pack her 's••t'... a word they used quite often to describe the items they were moving. And then the trouble really began...

We were told the items would arrive in about 14 days (and have the papers saying that). When 14 days passed without any contact at all, we called and were told it's 21 days, not 14. When 21 days passed with no contact, we contacted again, and the extremely rude lady told us that they would let us know when it was going to arrive. This continued for nearly 5 MONTHS!

During all those weeks, we were told a variety of things, such as that the items were in storage in AZ... that they were already in Atlanta and would be delivered soon, and my favorite..... they didn't know where the items were. Mix in a few rude blow-offs as well.

Finally after nearly 5 months, and double the quoted cost, they set up a delivery. When the items arrived, there were MANY damaged or destroyed items... broken pictures with glass everywhere, broken chairs, and tables.... and many items missing. They also delivered items that did not belong to us. When we informed them of this, we were told that if they had our sticker, they are our items. Those items are still in our garage and they have refused to take them back, or find who they actually belong to.

Overall, these guys get -700,000 stars, and should be avoided at all cost

Triple charged, super late, destroyed everything.

F you're reading this, it's probably already too late. You probably used a broker who used this company. If you are lucky enough to not be forced to use this company: RUN AWAY!

This company is terrible, bottom of the barrel. They only get business by working with brokers, who book them because they don't give a shit about your stuff and can make more off you if they book a cheaper company. They probably get kickbacks.

It would be faster and cheaper to just pay someone to destroy your furniture.

The first hint I had that something wasn't right was when the movers arrived, loaded up my stuff, and said that it was actually 786 cubic feet. My stuff was in a storage unit with specific dimensions, so I knew this couldn't be the case, but there was nothing that I could do about it. I had to pay half sof the remaining, with the new estimate at $5500, but hey, at least I'd get my stuff soon.

After SIX WEEKS I finally got a call saying that my stuff had made it to New York, but they wanted an extra $800 to bring it the last 11 miles. Instead of

MORE THAN SIX WEEKS after I had my stuff picked up I got a call from the truck driver. The driver said that I would have to pay $700 extra for him to bring my stuff to Manhattan, plus a bunch of extra fees for everything you can think of, and the provided COI that wasn't even close to satisfying my building's requirements.

I ended up booking a new mover, and paying them $800 just to get my stuff from Brooklyn to Manhattan, but I figured this was a safer bet than paying the $700 to Konami and letting them have another opportunity to rack up the fees. They met me at the truck and we all stared in awe at the utter lack of care with which the truck driver dumped another person's belongings onto the street and into the snow. I actually saw a box completely break apart and the driver kick the contents on to the sidewalk, while commenting about the supposed race of the person. ("This must be a 7-11 owner", while imitating an Indian accent).

The driver kept telling me that he didn't load up the stuff, he just drove, clearly so I wasn't mad as him when I saw my stuff. I waited with dread for him to get to my stuff, and when it was time, I knew what was coming: My new couch was torn, my dresser was totaled, my vinyl were warped (were they left in the Nevada sun?) and basically everything else had the sort of damage that could only be caused by the blatant disregard of people who give absolutely zero shits about your property.

My new (good) movers loaded the supposed 768 cubic feet of stuff into the 500 cubic foot van, and it was barely half full: Konami had almost TRIPLE CHARGED!

Now this ordeal is over, and I have my stuff, but I have literally thousands of dollars in damages, and I have to claim everything they broke, but if the other reviews are true, they will either just ignore your claim or drag their heels forever.

Don't make my mistake, if you are lucky enough to be able to choose your mover.

Konami Moving & Storage is by far the worst moving co in the US, maybe the world.

It took them 6 months to deliver my property. There was a third of my stuff missing. All of the furniture was damage in some way. I inquired about my missing property, they say that they cant find my stuff. I should file a claim. I tried, they want all kinds of forms, which I do not have.

Long-distance move from Houston, TX to Astoria, OR

Worst move ever.

I have moved across country 8 times and once overseas. I have had great success until this time. Konami is the WORST moving company EVER. Beware, don't use them. We moved from Houston, Texas to Astoria, Oregon. They picked up on March 25th and asked for an April 1st delivery. They said not more than 2 weeks past our request day but the fine print states they have 30 BUSINESS DAYS. That put delivery no later then May 11th. It's now June 2 and we are just getting our belongings. Konami only gives you $25 per BUSINESS DAY past the guaranteed day so they only took $350 off price. My original quote was about $3600 but that changed to over $6000 once truck was l loaded. What do you do at that point? Also they tried to charge me an additional $600 at delivery for a long haul since they had to park at the end of my driveway. I said "no way" so they compromised and put everything in my garage, now I have to move it myself up stairs since our rental is a split level. My husband cannot help as he almost died due to not having furniture for over two months. We were forced to sleep and sit constantly on the floor, he developed a life threatening infection and internal bleeding that put him into hemorrhagic shock. After an emergency transfer to a level 1 trauma center a d almost two week hospitalization, I was able to bring him home but since we had no furniture and he was recovering from surgery and a massive transfusion of blood, I had to buy a new bed and chair for him. All this has financially crippled us and what does Konami say, they don't care. Also, expect to be put on hold for long periods of time when you call, they never return phone calls, will not keep you updated, will tell you to expect a delivery but not call when something has liens to delay it, come up with a lot of excuses, have no plan b when things go wrong with plan a. Etc. Etc. Oh yes, they are rude, condensending and have absolutely no customer service skills. Have no idea if my stuff is even in one piece but wouldn't be shocked if it's all destroyed. I am sure trying to get any compensation is a lost cause. BEWARE DO NOT EVER EVEN CONSIDER USING KONAMI MOVING AND STORAGE. By the way, they are known for changing their business name due to so many complaints. The headquarters is out of Denver, CO but the customer service is in Las Vegas. Please research any company thoroughly before trusting them or risk getting your life DESTROYED like KONAMI MOVING AND STORAGE did to us.

Konami Moving and Storage.

Konami is the WORST moving company EVER. Beware, don't use them. We moved from Round Rock Texas to Swampscott Mass. We were given a pick up date June 5th they didn't arrive until June 15th. The truck they used I had never heard of but the driver was ok so they put my stuff into the truck. I was given the arrival date as June 19th My stuff was NEVER delivered. The company is owned by Jon Espina and Angelo Perez From Las Vegas Nevada. There were 100 calls and /or texts trying to get my daughters stuff. We were given wrong numbers, different people, answering machines and no one would tell me where my stuff was. A truck broke down, another company has it , on AND on. Finally after 51 days Jon Espina said he wasn't going to deliver at all and our stuff was in WACO Texas in a storage unit. We called the unit and it was verified that they did have 15 units there but under the name EXECUTIVE Moving and Storage (I advise reading those reviews) We arranged to meet someone at the storage unit on Saturday 25th of August and were told someone would be there between 11 and 1. So we flew in and went to the Storage no one showed. Finally the DRIVER showed up and they opened each unit we were HORRIFIED! Each unit was a mess broken boxes dirty things just thrown in. But ours was not there. We the called Waco PD and they finally talked to Jon and he said there was another Storage in Waco. We were given directions and the cut the lock off and there our stuff was some broken things boxes smashed dirt as all get out. We packed up what we could and Fed X'ed our stuff another $600. The kicker? When asked for a refund they said no because they did HALF the move. Round Rock to Waco 1 hour!! Needless to say we are going to pursue further action, again DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY!! And if you do use a mover investigate and read the reviews!!

Worse Moving Company.

Totally screwed us over! Moving my mother’s items from Colorado to storage unit in North Carolina until
house was ready for her to move into. First of all the queen mattress was missing, and they delivered the wrong box springs!! It wasn’t until a few weeks later when we went to move storage to the house that we realized the side boards to the headboard and footboard was missing too! Which made them the bed unusable!! Had to go buy a frame for $50! The insurance denied the claim for the headboard and footboard because we didn’t know it was missing when they unloaded at the storage!! And
They only gave us $25 for the damn mattress!! No explaination from Konomi!! THEY ARE CRIMINAL!! WARNING!! STAY AWAY!!

Worst Movers Ever!!

Initial I booked them for my move from Texas to California. I paid my deposit, and set the two day window for 28th and the 29th of March. The coordinator that originally set up my reservation told me that they would call a day before to give me a two hour time frame to which my belongings will get picked up. The 27th came around no call, but I wasn't too worried considering I still had the another day. So, here's where it got really crazy! Around the afternoon like 2PM-3PM on the 28th I started to get worried because no one had reached out to me about the 29th and the pick up times so I called and they told me that the person (dispatcher/driver) Travis would call no later than 5PM to give me a set time. Since there is a time difference between Texas and themselves I decided to wait until it came to be later on my end before calling back just so they could tell me that he did an big move and was filling the final paperwork, but would call me to set up a time for the next day (29th). I waited for this guy Travis to call me all night until I fell asleep and still no word. The next morning on the 29th I called them to see what was going on since I haven't heard a word from them or the driver. Instead of just coming out to say that they may not be able to assist me in my move they decided to come up with a time between 4-6PM and through me off to the customer service reps by telling me to call them for updates. When it finally reached 5:35PM (my time) I call because the driver suppose to call 30mins prior to arrival of the pick up location. They tell me that the driver told them he was running late and the 2 hour window would be between 5:30-7:30PM and guess what?!! NO ONE CAME.. Since then; I have called them from the 30th-1st they answered once to tell me that they would have to put in a request for the refund of my deposit, other times they have either kept me on hold until the phone call drops or ignore my call all together. I had to pay the leasing office for extra days until I was able to find new movers. None of the managers have called me back.. Ended up filing a claim through my bank; NEVER will I EVER reserve or recommend anyone to these people!!

Awful company I have ever seen.

This company is nothing but a bunch of thieves. When we needed to move, we gave this company a chance. We had a $200 deposit with them, this will be important later. So, we had to leave on a specific day, and they told us they will be a bunch of days early to pick up our stuff. When those days came, they said to us that their truck was somewhere else and they will reach us the next day then when pick-up truck didn't arrive, they told us the next day it will come, and they kept saying that for the rest of the days. When it was the day before moving, they still didn't arrive, they said they don't know what the problem is. So, when we told them they didn't deliver our object, and we want a refund and when we said that, they hung up. They straight up hang up when we mentioned the word "refund" Thank god we went to U-Pack, they are a moving company and helped us in this time. When we moved, we called Konami and said we want a refund, they first told us it will take a while, then they said they did send it, and our bank has a problem. We called our bank, and they said there was no problem and we had a problem with our bank. So, they lied to us. Also, sometimes when we call, they wouldn't answer, but when we call unanimously, they would respond. So, they kept us on hold just so they would hang up. They then knew how we call them and wouldn't answer our unanimously calls. We had to call them multiple times for a chance to get an answer. So, this company is nothing but a scam. They will steal your money and hold it. Just use U-Pack rather than this company because this company will take and keep your money. They put us under a lot of stress for nothing. I hope to everyone who thinks about checking out this company to find another company because all this company wants to do is take your money and keep lying on why they can't give it back.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Los Angeles, CA

Performed Above my Expectations.

They were very helpful and personable when moving my things. I was able to communicate with the moving crew during the relocation and was given updates routinely that instilled confidence in me regarding the position of my things. They ended up arriving safely. I am happy to recommend this moving company to others looking for a smooth transition from point A to B. For me, that was from Denver, Co, to Los Angeles, CA.

Long-distance move from Dallas, TX to Brooklyn, NY

Worst moving company.

I set up my son's moving from Dallas to Brooklyn, NY. The pickup date was schedule at 5/24. With very few conversation, while we waited for them again and again, they finally came Wednesday 5/29. At that time they promised that the delivery date 6/3 would not be impacted. I already felt that they could not be trusted. But I never thought till today 6/12, we still know nothing about our belongings. We tried to contact them many times, they have only only voice and forever no phone call back. So I had to contact them through email to Thomas Brown. He was direct to aninfo@moveusto.com. I was told that they have nothing to with my delivery and contact that info myself. I tried customer service, it is just a fake machine. I even contacted the sales person I assigned the contact with. He hang up on me. Till today I still don't know how long I have to wait and where are my son's belonging. This company lack of ethics and is most unprofessional business I ever met. I can only pray for my son belongs still safe.
Try not to be cheated by their sales person. One they charge on your credit card after 3 days, they behave like rogue。
I doubted those 5 star review were fake and someone like me was fooled by them.
BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Fraud. Negligence. Lawsuit Pending.

I hired Konami to conduct a move for me 2 months ago. I'm not sure if Konami has a partnership with - or was acquired by - JG Transportation LLC DBA J Gentle Movers / J Gentle Van Lines, but somehow I was bait-and-switched and flipped over to JG Transportation without any explanation. My entire experience has been AWFUL with them - borderline criminal - with undisclosed fees, a variety of flat-out lies, damaged furniture and absolutely horrific customer service throughout the process. I've already filed a police report and I believe I tracked down JG Transportation's insurance company to file a claim, but that's not sufficient. I need to understand Konami's relationship with that firm, and I need an explanation in terms of how I was unwittingly sent to them for service. I will be including Konami in any and all legal actions, unless we can work things out between us. I'm waiting for a response.

Long-distance move from Sacramento, CA to San Antonio, TX

Bad business.

First time in ten years using a moving company because of multiple bad experiences with moving companies. As a military family, we are no strangers to relocating. Been using Uhaul for the last ten years. At least with Uhaul, you load and leave when you want to. You are with your items the entire time. Unload and then return. Now that we are older, the thought was daunting and exhausting. So against better judgement and after a lot of researching we expressed our concerns to the rep from Konami. She put our fears to rest and we decided to reserve. We paid a deposit and scheduled our pick up date. A week prior to the scheduled pick up date we received a call from another rep who went over our inventory one last time. At that time he stated we still owed and that the previous rep did not get all the deposit?! So after hesitation and expressing my frustration with that rep, I paid an additional $1000. The day of the pick up came and nothing, the second day they called and said that the previous customer used up the entire truck Nd they needed to get another truck and wouldn’t be able to come until the next day. The next day came and about a half hour before the final hour of their three hour pick up time was up.. I contacted customer service. After a lengthy hold, I was informed that due to traffic the driver would not be there until the following day! The rep was rude and informed these were outside of their control. She also informed me that the date of pick up is an estimation! She was rude and not empathetic at all. If I am moving to another state.. I don’t have time to be sitting and waiting. Your job is to provide me with the service of picking my stuff up. I have to be out of this place and be on the road. People have jobs to report to?! As a company with 10 years of experience as they claim, you mean to tell me this is the first time someone has ever under estimated their amount of items?! How are you not prepared for that?! How do you not have another truck available for a paying customer?! How are you not prepared for that! Also, with over ten years of experience, how is traffic an excuse?! As a working person.. my boss does not accept being over six hours away from my work and stating traffic as an excuse to not be able to report! I would get fired for lack of planning and taking responsibility. There’s no reason that a half hour before the Last hour in your given time frame - you are still six hours away from where you are supposed to be! Then to have a customer service rep make me feel like I’m wrong for feeling frustrated?! That’s unbelievable! Then you’re going to get here three days late and charge me well above what you quoted me and then deliver my items only God knows how much later than your “estimated” time and expect full payment for your services when I’ve gotten nothing but a anxiety ridden moving experience! WARNING- do not USE- do it yourself with a Uhaul or something if you can! At least then you’ll know you are getting what you pay for!!

Big can of NOPE.

My wife and I started using this company due to the price difference and guarantee they gave us that they are not a broker and are a professional company handling everything with our move. First they have charged us two different "deposits totalling $1,782.38. Next, their driver who wanted to come a day early and we initially agreed to on Thursday. Friday we found some issues and tried to get hold of Thomas. After several emails and phone calls (including his cell phone) getting no response we called the driver back on his cell phone. He started getting lippy with my wife so I took the phone and tried explaining that there is a contract stating pick up is Sunday and we have a few items showing up Sunday morning and want all of our stuff moved. He then threatens my family that if it is not ready when he shows up then he will beat my family. So I had to call a few other Marines I served with to guard my house so my children and wife are safe. Thomas says he will review the recording, but they don't record their "employee" cell phones. Thomas later calls me, a Marine Veteran, a liar when I try and talk to him about either having a discount or getting my money back and going elsewhere. Well he says he has us on tape verbally agreeing to using them for other dates. He hangs up the phone because I used a curse word and he tried telling me it is illegal to curse on the phone via FCC (he needs to learn laws before he B.S.'s someone). Crystal calls me minutes later and tries to soothe the situation, I agree to a Saturday pick up (a week later) bewtween 9-12. 8PM a Penske truck pulls up in front of my apartment (which has rules about times workers can be present). When these three guys get out of the truck my parking lot smelled alot like weed. They introduce themselves one guy asks to see my stuff. so I show him and he goes I don't know if it is going to fit. The truck they rented is 1700 cubic feet I was contracted for a little more than 650. They said it will take the whole truck for a one bedroom apartment. Then the driver who stated he was the only one who can drive the truck told me he had only slept 3 hours in the last 48. While dealing with them a fellow Marine showed up because my wife and kids felt unsafe. So we try and find a way to tell them they can go ahead and leave when a company calls stating they sent those guys there to move our stuff. I explained the situation and she even agreed that she couldn't talk her way out of this. She told me they bought this contract from Konami and hopes I can get a refund from this.

Above Standard.

Konami Moving & Storage performed above standards for my recent move. Completely professional company that met all my expectations and performed above and beyond my expectations. Truly a marvelous experience where all of my family’s things were secured and nothing important was overlooked. Great group of movers that are customer service focused and reasonably priced.

Moved from Ca to TX- Awful service.

First let me start by saying I am generally very easy going and have NEVER sent a bad review on anything ever but this bad customer service is BEYOND anything I have EVER felt with before. They were 10 days late picking up my stuff causing me to have an 8days additional rent. Then I was told to over estimate on my pickup and my balance would be adjusted which that didn’t happen. This has caused me to pay an additional $800. $300 for the rent and $500 in additional charges because I “over estimated” at the advice of the customer service. This is the WORST customer service and I work at walmart so I know bad customer service.

Buyer be ware, extra last minute charge.

Moving the equivalent of a 1 bedroom apartment from the Bay Area to Seattle. The team showed up within the 2 day window. They did a good job wrapping and loading the shipment. A few phone conversations indicated about a week for delivery. In the end it was about 3 weeks. No clear answer until the day before it showed up. As near as I can tell the shipment was loaded and unloaded over 3 times with multiple movers before it got to Seattle. The day of delivery the third moving company I had talked to called to say they were delivering the next day, but could not deliver without a shuttle. Based on their Google maps view they wouldn't back a 18 wheeler into the culdesac. The guy that quoted me had the same google map and didn't say anything. In the end, they held my shipment hostage unless I paid another $350 for a shuttle van. The shipment arrived fine and no known damage. These guys are all just sales people that consolidate 3rd party movers. As long as that is your expectation and knowing that you will not get an actual delivery date or any customer service once you sign and pay. You won't know when it will show up until the day before it shows up. High volume , low margin, they just don't care. Buyer be ware.
